2023 AWARDS

So long, farewell!

So long, farewell!

All good things must come to an end and the 2023 awards will be the last.

Jon Chapman made the announcement to the audience of 660 at the Royal Lancaster Hotel, explaining that the 25th anniversary was the right time for him personally to call it a day.

This made the event bitter-sweet and the sell-out crowd enjoyed this last hurrah, despite the severe travel challenges posed by a tube strike and gridlocked streets.  Comedian Simon Evans got the show off to an upbeat start before handing over to living legend Jimmy Tarbuck who regaled the audience with his tales of Elvis, Frank Sinatra and Judy Garland.

Stars of the care sector participated in an impromptu panel debate which involved the use of large inflatable dice and boxes of chocolates to pick the raffle prizes winners.  Another great prize was on offer for the winner of the annual quiz which had a 1960s theme.

Former Pinders MD and design awards judge, Mark Ellis, was fondly remembered and three charities benefited from the generous audience donations in his memory.

The original creator of the design awards, Nick Borrett, paid tribute to Pinders for their running of the awards over the last quarter century before Jon had everyone on their feet for a farewell singalong accompanied, of course, by cowboy Roy Rogers!  A fitting end to an era.
