For the eighteenth year, the care-property sector gathered in London for the design awards ceremony, hosted by specialist healthcare consultants Pinders.
An audience of 650 was treated to a mix of fun and games, as well as the serious business of recognising excellence in the design of care homes and retirement housing. Before enjoying their lunch, the audience was reduced to tears of joy by star ventriloquist Nina Conti, aided and abetted by her friend Monkey and three ‘willing’ volunteers. The now-famous ‘RBS dance’ will live long in the memory!
Nina, in her role as patron of the Rainbows Children’s Hospice, was also on hand to present the six awards which covered independent living projects and care homes for both elderly and younger adults.
The Pinders event has become famed for its inventive fund-raising games and this year was no exception, with boxes of chocolates becoming tasty raffle tickets and a TV quiz testing the memory. As a result, Pinders has donated more than £23,000 to various good causes.
Nobody was in a hurry to leave the party and three hours of intense networking followed.
